Agenda: Too good to be true? Sometimes, it seems that way when discussing the implementation promises of an Exadata environment. These promises include no system outages, incredible throughput and no management required. While some of these are true, they do require experience and system knowledge for avoiding the pitfalls. Utilizing the experiences of over 150 Exadata implementations, this presentation provides strategies for avoiding the common pitfalls of implementing Exadata.

Presenter: Hank Tullis is a practice director with Enkitec, bringing almost 30 years of delivery experience in database design, performance and reliability to our technical division. With the onset of engineered systems and Big Data, Hank focuses specifically on Oracle Exadata implementations, Oracle Exalogic and Oracle GoldenGate technologies. Additional areas of expertise include Oracle virtualization as well as BigData environments and storage software surrounding Cloudera technologies, such as Hadoop and HBase. He holds the following certifications: Oracle Exadata Implementation, Oracle Enterprise Linux Implementation, Oracle Exalogic Implementation, Oracle GoldenGate Implementation, Cloudera Administrator for Apache Hadoop, Cloudera Certified Specialist for HBase.
